Turn Around Communications, Inc. (TACI) is a national telecommunications, broadband infrastructure, and digital infrastructure services provider supporting fiber optic networks, ISP deployments, utility construction, data centers, and mission-critical infrastructure projects throughout the United States.
TACI operates and maintains a fleet of specialized underground utility construction equipment, including Ditch Witch horizontal directional drilling equipment, vacuum excavation systems, mud mixing systems, trailers, and Ford Super Duty diesel trucks. Our success depends on reliable, well-maintained equipment that allows our field crews to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, trailers, and diesel trucks. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled mechanic who enjoys solving complex hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical problems while working independently with minimal supervision.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum five years of experience as a heavy equipment, hydraulic, or diesel mechanic
- Experience repairing Ditch Witch directional drilling equipment or similar underground utility construction equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, troubleshooting techniques, and component repair
- Experience servicing Ford Super Duty diesel trucks (6.7L Power Stroke preferred)
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Experience using diagnostic software, scan tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards
- CDL (Commercial Driver License)
- Experience with Ditch Witch equipment
- Experience servicing Vermeer, Toro, or similar underground utility construction equipment
- Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Hydraulic pump, motor, cylinder, and valve rebuilding
- Welding and light fabrication
- DOT vehicle inspections
- Air brake diagnostics and repair
- Trailer repair and maintenance
- Preventive maintenance program experience
The Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining TACI's fleet of underground utility construction equipment, directional drilling systems, vacuum excavators, mud systems, trailers, and Ford Super Duty diesel trucks.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe, efficient field operations. The successful candidate will possess advanced troubleshooting skills in hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systems and will take pride in maintaining equipment that supports telecommunications and utility construction projects throughout the region.
The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of performing complex repairs with minimal supervision.
