ADMINISTRATION OFFICER - Secretary General's Office

Vacancy, 100% full-time

NATURE OF THE WORK

The position of administration officer encompasses, in particular, participation in the preparation, update and application of administrative policies, procedures and processes of one or several administrative units of the school board; it also encompasses the supervision and coordination of the work of support staff associated with his or her sector of activity and the study and analysis of various files in order to make and follow up on recommendations.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

The administration officer develops, drafts, plans, applies, oversees and updates the administrative regulations, directives, procedures and processes related to the implementation of activities related to the management of one or several administrative units.

  • The person collaborates in the development, implementation and update of policies and organizational guides.
  • The person collaborates with various departments in the treatment of access to documents requests.
  • The person assists in the preparation of and collaborates on training to staff regarding school board policies and various applicable laws such as the Education Act and the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information.
  • The person recommends the standards and procedures appropriate to the needs identified and evaluates the results.
  • The person provides advice and assistance to management staff, works with professional and support staff and ensures compliance with the policies and regulations in effect.
  • The person studies and analyzes files, contracts, agreements, laws and other documents; gives advice and makes recommendations on the interpretation and necessary corrections and updates.
  • The person draws up contracts and agreements and oversees their application.
  • As needed, the person will serve as a replacement for the Complaints and Ethics & Integrity Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty, notably in law, administration, communications or human resources.

** Please note a DEC in paralegal technology with several years of work experience may also be considered.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Excellent English and French language skills, both verbal and written

  • A background in conflict resolution (mediation, arbitration, negotiation)
