Rainbow Raft Pride Center Program Services Specialist

Under the general supervision of the Associate Vice President for Community and Belonging, the Rainbow Raft Pride Center Program Services Specialist performs administrative, technical, and analytical duties in support of the day-to-day administration of Rainbow Raft Pride Center programs and services. The position carries out established program activities and operational processes; interprets and applies applicable University policies and procedures; maintains program information and records;

and uses participation, feedback, and other available data to support operations and identify routine areas for improvement. Working with campus and community partners, the incumbent implements student-centered activities related to academic achievement, belonging, persistence, retention, graduation, and post-graduation success. The position handles multiple priorities, exercises independent judgment within established policies and practices, and serves as a liaison in support of the Affinity Centers, Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and the Office of Community and Belonging.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Program Administration and Operations

  • Perform day-to-day administrative and program activities for the Rainbow Raft Pride Center in support of established goals related to student belonging and success.
  • Carry out routine operational processes, including maintaining regular office hours, program schedules, records, supplies, and other administrative needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with campus and community partners, including Hauss of Otters, Employee Affinity Groups, Otter Care, the Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid, and other relevant offices; facilitate referrals and information sharing.
  • Monitor program expenditures and routine budget activity; maintain records and apply established university fiscal and administrative procedures.

2. Program Implementation and Student Engagement

  • Implement community-building and culturally relevant student-centered programs and events in support of established Rainbow Raft Pride Center goals.
  • Collect and organize participation, event feedback, and related program information; identify recurring themes, service needs, and opportunities for routine improvement using established program goals and practices.
  • Facilitate alumni/ae involvement in student networking, mentorship, and connection activities.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with counseling services, student health services, Otter Care, and community organizations to assist students in accessing available health, wellness, and support resources.

3. Program Data, Reporting, and Analysis

  • Track and compile program participation, service, and outcome information using established measures and reporting procedures.
  • Compile, write, and present routine reports and summaries describing program activities, participation trends, feedback, and progress toward established goals.
  • Analyze available data and feedback using basic research and statistical methods to identify patterns, service needs, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Identify and present possible operational improvements for supervisor consideration based on collected information, applicable policies and procedures, standard practices, and relevant precedents.

4. Communication and Program Information

  • Maintain program-related content for websites and social media platforms in accordance with established university communication practices.
  • Prepare newsletters, brochures, presentations, and other communications that provide information about Rainbow Raft Pride Center programs, events, resources, and institutional priorities.
  • Share program information, outcomes, and progress with internal and external stakeholders as assigned and serve as a liaison regarding routine program questions, referrals, and procedures.

5. Educational Program Activities

  • Support faculty and staff participation in established initiatives that advance student success and belonging.
  • Prepare and facilitate educational workshops and allyship training using established program objectives, materials, and practices; collect participant feedback and make routine adjustments to future offerings as appropriate.

Other Functions

  • Attends seminars and conferences to maintain program and professional development.
  • Promotes and maintains an atmosphere of excellent internal and external customer service to cultivate welcoming spaces.

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Knowledge:
    Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them.
