Job Description & How to Apply Below

Bakker Construction is a Design‑Build firm serving the Monterey Peninsula, specializing in custom homes and renovations where both the finished product and the experience of living through the process matter deeply. Our mission is to transform lives, nurture community and leave a lasting legacy through the crafting of exquisite homes. Operationally, our mission is simple: to make projects run better than people expect them to run, and to change the standard of what a residential construction experience can be.

We do not define ourselves simply as “a contractor.” We define ourselves as a trusted partner—one that families rely on to enter their homes, take responsibility for complexity, and guide them from the first conversation through the final walk‑through with steady leadership, clear expectations, and uncompromising standards.

The Role

The Construction Superintendent is a critical leadership position within our production team. Working closely with the Production Manager, the Superintendent is entrusted with the day‑to‑day execution of assigned projects and is responsible for all materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment required to complete the work successfully.

This role requires strong problem‑solving, communication, and management skills, along with hands‑on carpentry experience and the ability to lead others in a professional manner. The Superintendent oversees selected aspects of each project from start to completion, including planning and scheduling, assigning work, general supervision, quality control, and overall jobsite organization.

The Superintendent is also responsible for the security and welfare of clients’ property while construction is underway. Both the quality of work and the appearance of the jobsite reflect directly on the Superintendent and the company.
