PURPOSE

Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Engagement & Leadership Development (SELD), the Coordinator for Student Organizations, Leadership, and Engagement is responsible for the design, coordination, implementation, and assessment of a comprehensive, multi-faceted student engagement program. The incumbent provides direct advising, leadership development, and operational support to Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), fraternities and sororities, and campus-wide student leadership initiatives.

The Coordinator also engages in event planning, supervises student staff, and fosters an inclusive, engaged, and thriving co-curricular experience at CSU Monterey Bay.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Student Organizations & Governance
  • Serve as the professional staff advisor for the Inter-Club Council (ICC) and United Sorority & Fraternity Council (USFC).
  • Oversee annual registration, recognition, and reactivation processes for RSOs, including Greek Life.
  • Develop and maintain resources such as the Student Organization Handbook, Advisor’s Guide, and Event Planning Toolkit.
  • Provide guidance to student clubs and organizations on policy interpretation, event planning, fiscal procedures, and compliance with CSU and University policies, state/federal laws, and risk management expectations.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to fraternities and sororities through the USFC and chapter leaders.
