Overview

Graduate Research Assistant with experience, preferably in an academic area related to the hiring professor’s research topic. Must have strong research abilities and familiarity with multiple research methodologies, techniques, and resources. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate good time management to work independently, as well as under the direction of a supervisor. At times, they may work on and contribute to collaborative research groups.

This position is compensated at the Level B rate on the MIIS student wage scale: $17.45 per hour.

• Collect and analyze data.
• Compile research materials.
• May conduct a literature review of the materials on the research topic.
• Edit and/or proofread manuscripts for publication.
• Could perform clerical tasks, including photocopying articles, typing notes, picking up library books or organizing files.

Unless restricted by certain visa status, all students with an active status for the semester are eligible for jobs on campus.

All student employees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week in on campus jobs during the academic year (this includes exam periods). The only exception is when there is a full week when school is not in session.
