Purpose

Under the general direction of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Web Publisher and Communications Specialist serves as the lead digital publisher and a strategic communications partner for the Division of Academic Affairs. The position is primarily responsible for overseeing, publishing, and governing Academic Affairs web content to ensure accuracy, clarity, accessibility, brand alignment, and consistency across colleges, departments, and academic programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serves as lead digital content publisher for Academic Affairs. Oversees web content updates across colleges, departments, and academic programs. Writes, edits, rewrites and structures digital content for website, dashboards, and social media. Reviews and approves submitted content to ensure compliance with editorial, brand and accessibility (Title II) standards. Uses QA and accessibility tools to detect and correct issues in collaboration with University Communications.

    Establishes and maintains content governance practices, recommends improvements to digital workflows and information architecture, and applies SEO and user experience best practices to enhance visibility, usability, and engagement. Develops an annual social media calendar for the Office of the Provost units, supporting content creation and tracking metrics of engagement.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Administrative Coordinator, serves as a primary communications resource for the Office of the Provost, providing strategic counsel and execution support for division‑wide messaging.
