We seek two non‑tenure track intermittent lecturer positions in the Department of Operations Research. Candidates with experience in probability and statistics, data analytics, modeling and simulation, military logistics, or naval tactical analysis are especially encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities include teaching courses on an as‑needed basis and advising students who are conducting applied research related to national security challenges.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate degree in Operations Research, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Broad experience (typically more than 3 years) as a faculty member in an accredited institution of higher education.
- Evidence of excellent teaching.
- Reputation for expertise in Operations Research or National Security Data Analysis in the DoD.
Education must be accredited by an institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order to be credited toward qualifications.
Conditions of Employment- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct‑deposit pay program.
- New employees will be required to successfully pass the E‑Verify employment verification check.
- Males born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Retired military members may not be appointed within 180 days of retirement to a civilian position, per federal regulations.
- Employment of federal annuitants is governed by Department of Defense and Department of the Navy policy.
