The free, short application for the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD) Teacher Residency at Alder Graduate School of Education open September 1! The Final date to receive applications for Priority Round is October 9, 2026. This Fall, MPUSD is recruiting a cohort of teacher residents for the MPUSD Teacher Residency. This is an innovative and affordable pathway to a full-time teaching career in our community.
Residents earn their Master's Degree and Teaching Credential in just one year through the Alder Graduate School of Education, while joining a supportive, mentor-based program with an emphasis on social justice and equity. After the year of residency, graduates receive priority hiring as MPUSD teachers.
TUITION: ~$23,970 tuition for class of
BENEFITS: $15,000 Stipend (Residents are not employees of the school) $10,000 Golden State Grant (via either the state or Alder) $10,000 MPUSD Tuition Reimbursement for science, math, and SPED candidates Additional funding for SPED candidates may be available Up to $5,600 in state/ federal grants Alder Tuition Scholarship of up to $10,000 Up to $20,500 in federal loans Master's Degree and Credential in 1 year Priority hiring for a full-time position at the school of residency
