Summary: The Network Engineer IV leads the network team to support education & .mil networks.

Essential Job Functions:

• Uses knowledge of WAN/LAN/WLAN systems to design, install, operate, & maintain internal & external networks.
• Tests & evaluates network systems to eliminate problems & make improvements.
• EXP w/ a variety of field concepts, practices, & procedures.
• Relies on EXP & sound judgment to plan & accomplish goals.
• Responsibilities include network performance monitoring, optimization, testing, implementation projects, network security controls, advanced troubleshooting & analyzing all elements of the network infrastructure.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS from an accredited college or university w/ a minimum of 5+ Yrs of EXP
  • OR AA/AS w/ 7+ Yrs of EXP
  • OR Substitute w/ 9+ Yrs of relevant EXP working w/ network infrastructure products & solutions
• Training, Certifications, EXP, & Clearance Requirements:
  • IAT Level II (CCNA Security/CSA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/SSCP) Cert. & applicable CE/OS Cert. & CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent required.
• Prefer EXP & skills w/ the following manufacturers & applications:
  • Extreme Networks Layer 2/3, MLXE Switches /Extreme IQ / OSPF, BGP, & MPLS, VMware NSX:
    Install, Configure, Manage (V6.2), Ruckus Layer 2 Switches/Wireless Controller/Wireless Access Points, Palo Alto Firewall knowledge of PA-7050/PA-3060/PA-3260/PA-5450/Wildfire/URL Filtering, Brocade MPLS Implementation Layer 2 & Layer 3 switches, Cisco switches & routers, Aruba Networks Excellent knowledge of Wireless Controllers/Access Points/Airwave/Clear Pass, Ciena 100G OME 6500 DWDM System, & Solar Winds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends
• Background in Management, Project Leadership, & Networks.
