The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined on factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, and CSU systemwide pay for comparable jobs.

PurposeUnder the general supervision of the IT Director of Enterprise Applications Services (EAS), the Project Management Lead works independently and engages with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs, challenges, and priorities and to guide them in making informed decisions regarding selection, implementation, and integration of technology solutions. The PMO Lead is also responsible for directly contributing to initiatives, projects and operations in support of IT systems, application services and resources.
The incumbent collaboratively and effectively supports the entire IT Project Portfolio, utilizing various industry standard methodologies to ensure the successful delivery of new/modified applications while leading cross‑functional teams to design and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and new systems. Follows industry standard frameworks for Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from initiation, planning, analysis, design, development, test and implementation to maintaining systems/applications and supporting continuous improvement and data integrity efforts.
The Project Management Lead will promote User Experience (UX) best practices, and improve knowledge resources to support our staff, faculty and students.
- Project Management and Implementation:
Establish and maintain project management standards, define best practices, processes, and tools, ensure alignment with organizational goals, assist in governance framework and program prioritization, track project progress, risks, and provide status reports. - Risk Management:
Identify and assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, facilitate communication across teams, document changes, and train junior managers. - Process Improvement:
Evaluate and recommend improvements to project management processes, maintain a central repository of documentation, lessons learned, and best practices. - Testing and Quality Assurance:
Participate in acceptance testing and quality assurance activities, facilitate product demonstrations and reviews, ensure user requirements and data integrity. - Consultation Duties for Planning/Analysis:
Facilitate stakeholder collaboration, conduct business process and feasibility reviews, research and evaluate potential system solutions, develop documentation such as RFPs, scopes, cost estimates, and business cases. - Knowledge Management:
Develop and maintain usability resources, evaluate usability, plan and coordinate training labs, provide end‑user support, resolve service requests. - Other Functions:
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Skills And Abilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑functional IT teams to lead significant or complex business system projects.
- Expert analysis of complex business challenges using advanced data analysis and modeling.
- Develop and manage test plans and processes, selecting appropriate techniques and tools.
- Review work of other Business Systems Analysts to ensure quality control.
- Provide system demonstrations to campus users.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project progress and findings.
- Plan and implement migration from outdated to new data systems and tools.
- Review best‑practice examples at other institutions to drive innovative change.
- Develop sophisticated reports, dashboards, and visualizations.
