The Program Coordinator performs a variety of assignments that are integral to the Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) Foundation and require a high degree of professionalism, use of technology, and independent judgment. The Program Coordinator reports to the Chief Advancement & Operations Officer, but works collaboratively with Foundation and College staff on a variety of projects. Key duties include: providing coordination and support for a diverse range of Foundation programs, development activities, and special events.
MPC Foundation employees are not employees of Monterey Peninsula Community College District.

Major Responsibilities / Examples of Duties Program Coordination- Collaborate with the Chief Advancement and Operations Officer to administer the Foundation’s scholarship program, serving as the primary point of contact for student-focused responsibilities. These duties include student outreach, providing application assistance, managing student communications, tracking awards, and ensuring timely notifications and follow-up.
- Provide administrative support for other donor or grant‑funded programs serving MPC students and faculty/staff, including Honor Grants, Alumni Network, Emergency Assistance, Faculty & Staff Advancement Awards (FASA), and the Evans College Incentive Program (CIP).
- Prepare and maintain a variety of records, files, and reports related to Foundation programs.
- Compile and maintain program data for inclusion in internal, donor, and grant reports.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Foundation’s programs, development initiatives, and campaign activities.
- Support the production of targeted and mass mailings, electronic and other communications.
- Serve as backup support for gift batching and data entry, including generating reports and mailing lists from the Raiser’s Edge database.
- Assist with the coordination of special events such as Foundation‑sponsored lunches, tours, receptions, fundraising and donor recognition events.
- Serve as a point of contact for event attendees, vendors, students, and others involved in special events.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiencies within work duties.
- Develop positive relationships with colleagues, donors, students, faculty, staff, board members, community members and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of office administration methods and practices including filing systems, letter and report writing; computers and word processing programs; proficiency in Google Suites, and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of donor management software, preferably Raiser’s Edge, is highly desirable, but not required.
- Knowledge of other software such as Awardspring, Go Fund Me Pro, Thankview, and Constant Contact is desirable, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field such as Non‑Profit Management, Health & Human Services, Business, or Program Management.
- Two years of program coordination or four years of increasingly responsible and relevant experience.
- Work experience in a non‑profit and/or education setting is highly desirable.
- Ability and willingness to learn how to effectively use a variety of software programs.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Ability to understand and independently carry out oral and written instructions; learn and successfully apply office policies, procedures, rules and regulations; use good judgment; analyze situations and communicate effectively both orally and in writing; type accurately at…
