Shift Notes

, M-F with rotating call

• Smoke-Free Facility: All drug screens must be negative for nicotine/cotinine.
  • If positive, candidate will only be submitted for review if they have a documented prescription for a nicotine patch.
  • Positive results without a legitimate medical reason may result in contract cancellation.

Position:
Cath Lab Registered Nurse

• Shift: 8-hour Day Shift
• Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (M–F)
• Call Requirement:
  • Weeknight call: 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM next day
  • Weekend call: 24/7 rotation
  • Approximately 10 call shifts/month
  • Every other weekend and possibly 2 weekday call shifts/week
  • Staff prefers picking up call, so travelers typically fill coverage gaps
  • Must be willing to take holiday call
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes

• Cath Lab Suites: 2
• EP Lab: 1
• Average Daily Cases:
  • EP: 4–5 cases/day
  • Cath: 6–7 cases/day

Common cases include:

• PCI
• Pacemakers
• STEMI
• Diagnostic caths
• TAVR
• Watchman procedures

Structural heart experience preferred but not required.

Must Have:

• Minimum 2 years Cath Lab RN experience
• Ability to take total patient care assignments if needed
• May need to pre-op and recover patients

Preferred:

• Structural heart experience
• Epic experience

Required:

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Preferred:

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) — not required

Preferred experience:

• Epic (especially for nurses; techs require Epic)
• Mc Kesson
• Philips
• Siemens

• Cath Lab Techs:
  Yes
• Manager/Charge Nurse:
  Yes
• Cardiologists:
  On-call coverage

• No floating requirements

• Scrub color provided

• 2–3 shifts depending on experience
