Outside Sales Representative

Overview

J&L Wines is a family‑owned and operated California wholesale distributor of fine wine and spirits seeking an Outside Sales Representative for the Monterey County territory, including Big Sur. The role calls for a highly knowledgeable sales professional experienced in selling wine, craft spirits and import selections.

We are looking for an experienced, full‑time sales representative with a proven track record to take a substantial territory and continue growing it. You will work exclusively with our extensive portfolio of local must‑haves, select imports, and craft distilleries.

• Sell J&L portfolio to established contacts while developing new prospects.
• Anticipate a minimum of 12–20 customer visits daily and personally communicate with a minimum of 20–25 customers daily.
• Facilitate sales of selected items/brands within a pre‑determined period, meeting monthly and yearly sales goals and objectives.
• Develop new accounts.

• Product knowledge of wine and spirits.
• College degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand customers’ needs and opportunities without over‑selling.
• Ready to learn and commit to selling “the right way” with a highly detailed and professional approach.
• Progressive sales experience preferably in the beverage industry.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

• Commission‑based sales position per our Outside Sales Agreement.
