Security Officer

Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, security supervisor, and security lead, the security officer performs duties including thorough patrols, key access, security stand‑bys, escorts, storage and disposal of patient valuables and lost & found items, investigations, code response, parking issues, front entrance screening, detailed report writing, and the completion of thorough logs.

• Conduct basic computer tasks and document security events.
• Maintain excellent customer service and strong verbal and written communication.
• Remain calm and composed in potentially volatile situations.
• Observe details, report unusual occurrences promptly, and submit detailed security reports.
• Act as a self‑starter: problem solve, multi‑task, prioritize duties, and follow through to completion.
• Coordinate with peers to meet goals and complete assigned tasks.
• Comply with and enforce hospital and departmental policies.

• Experience in healthcare security or law enforcement preferred.
• Demonstrated functional word processing and superior written communication skills.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. required; preferred: combination with relevant work experience.
• Valid California driver’s license with three points or fewer on driving record and participation in DMV pull‑notice program.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
• Completion of IAHSS Basic Certification Exam within 180 days of hire.
• Completion of Montage Health authorized crisis prevention/aggressive behavior management program within 180 days of hire.
• Obtaining a valid California Guard Card within 4 months of hire.

1.0 FTE, varied am/pm shifts.
Position Type:
Regular.

Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $25.97 to $34.76.

Shift Differentials:

• Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $2.06
• Hourly Night Shift Differential: $3.09
