The Property Services Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and upkeep of residential and/or commercial properties. This role requires a versatile, hands‑on professional capable of performing a wide range of tasks including general repairs, HVAC support, cleaning, painting, and landscaping to ensure properties remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. The Property Service Technician maintains our many locations; this is a critical function in ensuring NHIA standards are met for our individuals we serve and our staff.
The job is Full‑Time. Flexible Schedule Available. You must have reliable transportation, you will be travelling between locations in Monmouth, Ocean & Bergen Counties.
- Perform general handyman tasks including minor repairs, installations, and troubleshooting (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Conduct routine maintenance and basic servicing of HVAC systems; identify issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Complete interior and exterior painting projects, including surface preparation and finishing.
- Carry out general cleaning duties such as trash removal, sanitizing, and maintaining common areas.
- Maintain outdoor spaces including mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting, snow removal/salting, and seasonal upkeep.
- Inspect properties regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Proven experience in general maintenance, handyman services, or property upkeep.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, basic plumbing, and electrical systems. Certification may need to be provided.
- Ability to perform physical labor and work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Must be willing to consent to a background check and drug screening.
- Able to follow spoken and written instructions.
- Able to work without direct supervision.
- Ascending/descending stairs and ladders regularly required.
- Reliable, highly organized, attentive to detail, courteous, friendly, hardworking, and professional.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be 20 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Skills:
- Trade certifications or technical training (HVAC, electrical, or plumbing).
- Experience in landscaping and groundskeeping.
- Painting and finishing experience.
This position involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work and may require lifting, climbing, bending, and exposure to various weather conditions. Working hours may vary due to programming needs and may be before 9am or after 3pm on weekdays or weekends.
