Worship Pastor: Provenance Church

This position would only provide a free apartment located in the back of the church. The church is on the strip of the main town within walking distance of the university. The hopes is that as the church grows, the position could turn into part-time and eventually full-time but for now a free parsonage is available. The church consist of about 65-70 people and is mainly a very young family church with most of the congregation having young children.

Provenance Church is seeking a part-time Worship Pastor to lead our church in Christ-centered, biblically faithful worship. This person will oversee the musical preparation and leadership of our worship gatherings, while helping cultivate a culture of worship that is rooted in Scripture and focused on the glory of God.

The ideal candidate will be a theologically grounded Christian who is able to sing, play an instrument, lead a worship team, and use Pro Presenter effectively. This person should have a genuine desire to serve the local church, disciple others, and help develop musicians and worship leaders.

• Lead congregational worship through singing and instrumental leadership.
• Lead and coordinate our Thursday night worship gathering/rehearsal.
• Prepare weekly worship sets that complement the preaching and overall direction of the church.
• Select and arrange songs that are theologically sound, biblically faithful, and appropriate for congregational singing.
• Recruit, schedule, train, and disciple members of the worship team.
• Prepare musicians and vocalists for Sunday worship through organized rehearsals and clear communication.
• Operate or oversee Pro Presenter for worship services, including lyrics, Scripture, and presentation elements.
• Coordinate with the pastor regarding sermon themes, Scripture passages, and the overall direction of worship.
• Help develop a healthy worship ministry culture marked by humility, excellence, teamwork, and service.
• Assist in developing and training future worship leaders and musicians within the congregation.
• Participate regularly in the life and ministry of Provenance Church beyond the worship ministry.

• Spiritual & Theological
• Professing Christian with a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
• Committed to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture.
• Demonstrates spiritual maturity, humility, integrity, and a desire to serve the local church.
• Possesses a solid understanding of biblical theology and Christian doctrine.
• Formal theological training is preferred, particularly Bible college, seminary, or equivalent theological education.
• In agreement with the doctrinal convictions of Provenance Church.
• Musical & Ministry
• Able to confidently sing and lead congregational worship.
• Proficient in at least one primary worship instrument, preferably guitar and/or piano.
• Able to lead and work effectively with a team of musicians and vocalists.
• Comfortable teaching and coaching other musicians.
• Experience planning and leading corporate worship in a local church setting.
• Experience with Pro Presenter or comparable church presentation software.
• Organized, dependable, teachable, and able to communicate clearly.
• Time Commitment
• This is a part-time position, with responsibilities centered around:
• Weekly worship preparation
• Thursday evening worship/rehearsal
• Sunday worship leadership
• Worship team communication and scheduling
• Ongoing development and discipleship of the worship ministry
• The exact weekly schedule and compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, availability, and responsibilities.

Provenance Church is a local church in a, small college town in Montevallo, Alabama, seeking to faithfully proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and glorify God through biblical expository preaching, Christ-centered worship, and life together as a church family. Provenance is a calvinistic and Baptistic church with a strong focus on expository preaching. The current pastor was a graduate of The Expositor's Seminary.
