Assist with alumni social media and provide office support for the Alumni Affairs Office. Occasionally assist with events and programs.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a social media content planning calendar.
- Create and curate regular content for UM Alumni Office social media accounts and groups on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linked In.
- Monitor, listen and respond to users’ comments and questions in a timely manner.
- Manage the general alumni email account.
- Assist the Alumni Office with the development and assessment of alumni surveys.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service by welcoming and assisting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, taking and delivering messages, and general office duties as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Work after-hours and weekend events as necessary.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred major:
Communication Studies, Mass Communication or Marketing.
- Self-directed, motivated, punctual and reliable.
- Strong communication, PR and writing skills.
- Proficiency with social media, Canva and related software.
- Professional appearance and behavior as a representative of the Alumni Office.
- Good interpersonal, customer service skills and ability to interact with visitors, guests and the UM community in an effective way.
- Photography or videography skills a plus but not required.
Communication Studies, Mass Communication or Marketing major preferred.
Licenses, Certification or RegistrationsDriver’s license preferred.
