Assistant or Associate Professor, Nursing (Tenure-track)

We are seeking a dynamic nurse educator for a nine‑month, tenure‑track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences.

• Teach undergraduate prelicensure courses in maternal/child/reproductive health and/or nursing care of children.
• May also teach additional nursing courses, including RN to BSN track courses, based on qualifications.
• Summer teaching may be required for the position.

• Academic advising of prelicensure students.
• Curriculum development and program assessment.
• Establish an independent line of scholarly activity/research and publish in scholarly journals.
• Provide service to the program, department, college, university, and community.

• Doctoral degree in nursing (required).
• Documented experience and excellence in teaching.
• Peer‑reviewed publications in translational or human subjects research.
• Evidence of successful undergraduate advising.
• Simulation experience or certification as a healthcare simulation educator.
• Membership and involvement in professional organizations.
• Familiarity with AACN Essentials and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

• Unencumbered registered nursing (RN) license in Alabama, multistate RN license, or eligibility for Alabama RN licensure prior to employment.
• American Heart Association BLS HCP certification.
