The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Media Relations with preparation and dissemination of information to the University community and to local and state media; promote and publicize sports-related stories and events.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations with game day operations; oversee press row/press box management for home athletics events in the absence of the Director of Media Relations, including supervision of student assistants.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations with the production of all sports information materials to the media.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations with the coordination and management of information pertaining to Athletics on the University website.
- Assist the Director of Media Relations with marketing and promotions projects, including oversight of the department’s fan engagement app.
- Assist with developing and implementing office policies for the Sports Information Department.
- Assist with the organization of publications production flow and advertising for publications.
- Assist in managing updates to the athletic department website and social media account (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube, etc.) for all athletic teams and department.
- Create press releases, game notes, and stories for publication.
- Assist in maintaining team and individual statistics.
- Assist with the coordination of media coverage for all home and away athletic events.
- Provide leadership, evaluate, and supervise direct reports in performing duties as charged.
- Assist the department with the planning and execution of special and annual events, including but not limited to Hall of Fame, Student-Athlete End of Year recognition, etc.

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations;
- Knowledge of media practices and procedures;
- Knowledge of statistics, rules and regulations for the sports to be covered;
- Knowledge of computerized statistical packages and desktop publishing equipment;
Ability to communicate effectively; - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; work nights and weekends as required.
