Job Description-Cost Accounting Specialist.
Position SummaryThe Cost Accounting Specialist is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on the company's costs of production and inventory. CO team maintains accurate cost information, manages cost accounting systems, and provides insights to optimize operational efficiency and profitability. Key responsibilities include conducting cost analyses, preparing cost reports, assisting in budgeting and forecasting processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
The Cost Accounting Specialist must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and cost management techniques. They are also expected to stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve cost accounting processes and procedures.
Ensure all financial records and statements are in line with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). In addition, resolve any discrepancies or irregularities he or she finds in records, statements, or documented transactions.
Responsibilities- Review material invoices and advance payments for appropriate documentation and approval, before payment.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries.
- Compile, consolidate, and conduct basic analysis of accounting and finance information.
- Examine a variety of financial statements and transactions for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the execution of financial and/or operational audits.
- Review financial and operational procedures to determine whether internal controls are being properly executed.
- Assist in building and preparing annual business plans and long-term business plans.
- Meet all other requirements as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Bilingual in Korean.
- Related Experience.
- 1-2 years experience in an applicable field is preferred, but not required.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- SAP.
