Tax Manager- Regional CPA Firm

Position Description

We have a new role partnering with a growing, top-rated locally owned CPA and business advisory services firm in Montgomery, Alabama. The firm helps hundreds of businesses across industries including logistics, retail, distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, construction, and professional services. It assists in maximizing tax savings, growth strategies, strategic advisory consulting, valuation services, and fractional CFO support.

• Strong analytical and technical tax accounting skills with the ability to research and implement tax liability and asset protection strategies
• Ability to perform tax prep and review work with multiple entities including partnerships, C Corps, S Corps, High Net Worth individuals, trusts and estate entities
• Leadership skills; interact well with other tax employees and act as a mentor and coach for junior tax employees
• Work with partners and founders to review complex issues and strategies for multiple clients

• Bachelor’s in accounting or equivalent (Finance, Business, Data Analytics)
• 4–6 years of public accounting experience, preferable in a tax role and senior tax role
• CPA preferred or CPA in progress and ability to sit for CPA relatively soon
• Experienced in a variety of tax/accounting software programs including CCH, Pro System, and other tax planning software (Thompson Reuters)
• Experience with tax review on C-Corp, S-Corp, individual, HNW, and complex entity arrangements
• Detail oriented and strong personal skills working with high‑profile clients, founders, CEOs, and VPs of multi‑million dollar organizations

• $115,000–$145,000 salary per year
