The Controller is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including monitoring and analyzing data and reporting. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. This role reports and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer.
Education, Experience, Required Skills- BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Experience in Manufacturing.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Applications.
- Cost Analysis experience (Preferred)
- ERP Experience required. (Epicor Preferred)
- CPA License (Preferred)
- Develop and maintain processes with operations management concerning control and safeguarding of inventory and other company assets.
- Coordinate inventory counts.
- Assist in developing the annual budget.
- Supervise, manage, and develop accounting staff.
- Prepare monthly borrowing base.
- Month‑end close process, including preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries.
- Maintain and reconcile various schedules, such as fixed‑asset schedules.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial analysis and reports as requested by the CFO.
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Report Sales and Use Tax.
- Assist with annual audit and tax preparations.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non‑compliance.
- Assist with Credit Checks and Collections.
- Manage Invoicing, Credits, and/or corrections.
- Manage Purchasing and the purchase of materials.
- Other projects as assigned.
- Ability to stand, walk or sit appropriately eight (8) hours/day.
