Accounting Analyst

Overview

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Associate Accounting Analyst for our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.

• Ensure compliance with financial/accounting controls.
• Perform closing procedures including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Collaborate and assist with the preparation of forecasts and budgets.
• Monitor the integrity of systems and general ledger transactions.
• Prepare internal and external financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, Sarbanes‑Oxley, and various commission reporting.
• Provide backup and rotation of responsibilities.
• Analyze large amounts of data and maintain complex spreadsheets.
• Utilize various forecasting, reporting, and general ledger software.
• Provide communication related to financial statements, data requests, and month‑end closing processes.
• Proactively improve processes and business solutions.
• Work additional hours during certain times of the month.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business‑related discipline.

• 2 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• The ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly.
• Attention to detail, strong initiative, and results‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Experience with SAP general ledger or another ERP system preferred.
