Responsibilities
- Process Accounts Receivable transactions
- Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
- Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distributing cash receipt logs, and posting cash to the accounts receivable sub‑ledger
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail
- Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R so management can assess collection progress
- Support other accounting and finance team members, inventory management, and cost accounting
- Continuously evaluate current policies and recommend process improvements
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Provide support during internal and external audits
- Perform account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2‑3 years of experience with collections, invoicing, and/or accounts receivable
- 3 years experience in a private corporate accounting environment
- Experience with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, G Suite, Project, SharePoint (asset)
- General accounting practices (GAAP)
- ERP systems knowledge
- Basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
- Working knowledge of Net Suite and Oracle (asset)
- Revenue recognition schedules, reconciliations, and best practices
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong mathematical skills
- Ability to analyze large data sets
- Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
- Superb time management
- Proficiency with Quick Books Online and a commonly used ERP system (Oracle, SAP, Net Suite)
