We are looking for a Legal Assistant to provide dependable operational and administrative support to a busy legal team in Montgomery. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who can balance legal support work with office coordination, helping attorneys and staff stay organized while maintaining accurate records and schedules. The role will support case administration, document preparation, intake activities, and day-to-day department organization in a government environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, format, and submit court-related documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to deadlines.
• Maintain organized electronic case records in SharePoint and ensure legal files are easy to access and up to date.
• Coordinate calendars for the legal team, including hearings, meetings, and other time-sensitive commitments.
• Assist with drafting, editing, and finalizing legal correspondence, forms, and other case documents.
• Support client intake by helping gather preliminary information and identifying matters appropriate for legal review.
• Develop office procedures, reference materials, and internal memos to improve consistency across the department.
• Help keep daily legal operations on track by monitoring tasks, following up on priorities, and supporting overall office organization.
• Provide light logistical support for meetings or departmental events as needed.
