The Be Pro Be Proud Alabama Tour  Manager

Be Pro Be Proud exists to change long-held beliefs and perceptions across all segments of United States society about the value and opportunity provided by technical careers in manufacturing, construction, agriculture & forestry, digital technology, transportation, utility, education, and healthcare industry sectors.

We are combating generation-old stigmas and social norms as they relate to legitimate career pursuits. We are working to eradicate terms including “vocational,” “middle-skill jobs,” “blue collar,” “trades” and others, replacing them with “technical professions” or “skilled professions.” Scale, responsibilities, performance demands, degrees of responsibility and growth potential in many technical career fields match, if not exceed, those of traditional professional careers.

We are working to eliminate the belief that a clear distinction exists between students who “are college material” versus those who are not – and that traditional school performance is reflective of value, ability, or potential.

Our Tour Teams are essential for achieving our goals across the BePro BeProud National Network. Each team member must enthusiastically convey our purpose, engage our target audiences, and inspire them to consider our message. This is no easy task as consistently delivering results requires the right people. The challenge is even greater with our audiences—middle and high school students, educators, and parents—who are often skeptical of messages that challenge traditional career beliefs.

Our message must be concise, well-articulated, and delivered by credible, compelling team members. This responsibility starts with selecting the right Tour Managers.

Tour Managers must reside in the State of Alabama and pass a background check. It is vital that Tour Managers possess the following characteristics:

• Approachable
• Articulate
• Charismatic
• Relatable
• Team-focused
• Have a personal story (i.e., post-secondary pursuit/job history) that adds credibility to the Be Pro Be Proud message.

Expected Core Requirements of All Be Pro Be Proud Team Members

Be Pro Be Proud Tour Manager Duties &Responsibilities

In conjunction with the Be Pro Be Proud mobile workshop Tour Operator and support team; the Tour Manager must accept and perform the following duties and responsibilities:
