Senior Business Analyst – Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES)
Duration: 6 months
Location:
Montgomery, AL (Onsite; non‑locals acceptable)
- Monitor contracts for development, configuration, and operational activities.
- Review and follow defined processes and procedures to support programs with multiple vendors.
- Collaborate with multiple vendors and in‑person or virtual teams.
- Review program, project, or software artifacts developed by vendors, comment on or approve them.
- Interact professionally with executives, managers, and subject‑matter experts.
- Create documents and presentations, schedule meetings, produce minutes, disburse reports, and track artifacts, issues, and action items.
- Provide business and requirements oversight across all phases of the project management and software development life cycle.
- Support multiple software development methodologies and configuration activities.
- Assist with Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reporting and certification processes.
- Maintain project assets, communications, and track items to completion.
- Identify and report on abnormalities or variances.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, comfortably discussing requirements and scope with users and senior stakeholders.
- Deliver excellent written and verbal communications and presentations.
- Act as a team player, building rapport with colleagues and handling multiple conflicting priorities.
- Apply strong analytical, problem‑solving, data, and business‑process analysis and design skills.
- Adapt and work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Manage complexity, demonstrating experience across functions to accomplish large‑scale goals.
- Work independently with minimal direction from the State or team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build team rapport.

- 7 years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst, including 3 years of business‑process modeling and management.
- 5 years of experience in MMIS or domain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or a major health‑care payer.
- 2 years of experience with a multi‑vendor project.
- Expert or advanced experience using Visio, MS Project, Office 365, Webex or Teams.
- 10+ years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst, including 3 years of business‑process modeling and management.
- 5+ years of experience in MMIS or domain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or a major health‑care payer.
- 2+ years of experience at large multi‑contractor organizations, including leading centralized or matrixed teams.
- 3+ years of experience as a technical writer.
- Expert or advanced knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, including MS Project and SharePoint.
