Asphalt Paving Lead Person- Montgomery, AL

This is a skilled position that may require supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in construction of surfaces on highways, streets, parking lots, aircraft landing strips, driveways, and related projects.

• Direct crew members to perform road construction tasks in the process of completing projects.
• Understand all aspects of road construction and read project plans to set grades.
• Operate related equipment as needed and have prior experience operating heavy road construction equipment.
• Maintain time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.
• Work from project plans to establish lines and grades for construction purposes.
• Perform other duties such as shovel work and maintenance of traffic as required.
• Ensure the safety of crew members and the public who interact with the project.
• Supervise and coordinate crew activities and train new crew members as needed.
