Valet Attendant – Montgomery, AL at American Parking & Services

Compensation: $7.25 – $8.00 per hour PLUS daily cash tips

Position Summary

The Valet Attendant provides excellent customer service by safely parking and retrieving vehicles. As the first and last person guests see, the Attendant creates a positive and welcoming experience while following all safety and company procedures.

Primary Objective

Provide friendly, efficient, and safe valet services while ensuring the security of guest vehicles. Responsibilities include greeting guests, managing vehicle drop‑off and pick‑up, controlling traffic flow, and answering questions professionally.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Inspections:
    Check for damage and record vehicle details on claim tickets.
  • Safety:
    Safely park and retrieve vehicles, follow key‑handling procedures, and comply with all safety guidelines.
  • Compliance:
    Clock in/out for shifts and breaks on time, and report tips accurately.
  • Housekeeping:
    Keep the valet area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Customer Service & Teamwork:
    Handle guest concerns politely, solve problems quickly, and support a positive team environment.
  • Attendance & Professionalism:
    Arrive on time, in full uniform, and ready to work. Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Additional Duties:
    Assist with other tasks as needed to support the team and daily operations.
Competency Requirements

To perform this role successfully, individuals must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily.

Qualifications Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Helpful attitude and strong customer‑service mindset are essential.
Licenses & Background Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record (no more than 3 moving violations within 3 years).
  • Pass and maintain a clean background check.
  • No special certifications required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Stand, walk, run short distances, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
  • Work may take place in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
  • Maintain professional appearance, including uniform and grooming standards.
  • Work required evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Operations occur indoors and outdoors, including parking garages and traffic areas.
  • Interact regularly with team members, clients, vendors, and guests; use of phones, radios, and operating moving vehicles.
Technology & Communication Tools
  • Use personal cell phones for work-related communication and access to work systems or applications.
  • Reimbursement for work-related phone use provided per company policy.
