Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
On-Call
Hours:
Nights (4:30 PM to 7:30 AM), weekends (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 8:00 AM), and federal holidays (24-hour shifts)
Key Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care: Perform inpatient care duties, including admitting, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for ward patients.
Clinical Management: Manage timely treatment and facilitate patient discharges or transfers.
Trainee Supervision: Educate and supervise health professions trainees (HPTs) in accordance with VA Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA) guidelines.
Inpatient Care:
Operating and collaborating physicians patients
Seeing 1C/1D Psychiatry Service - Ward Patients
Admitting
Diagnosis of patients
Developing Treatment Plans
Managing, including the performance of timely treatment
Discharge/Transfer
Outpatient Care:
Seeing all new patient referrals with accompanying medical records
Evaluation disposition E-consult
Post-discharged follow up
Patient Volume: 6 patients for an hour each or roughly 12 patients for one half-hour each; or any combination of one-hour and one-half hour appointment per day.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Certification
Board Status: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
Licensure: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
Life Support: Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS)
