Position Summary
The Transfer Evaluation & Degree Works Coordinator will be responsible for evaluating and processing transfer credits while also managing and maintaining the Degree Works system. This position will work closely with faculty, academic advisors, IT, and external institutions to facilitate a smooth transfer process and accurate degree audits.
Salary Schedule L: $18.00, up to 19 hours per week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Evaluate and process transfer credit requests for incoming students.
* Research and interpret transfer policies, accreditation standards, and articulation agreements.
* Maintain transfer equivalency databases and update course articulations.
* Collaborate with academic departments to determine course equivalencies.
* Communicate with students, faculty, and advisors regarding transfer credit policies and decisions.
* Assist in developing and maintaining articulation agreements with other institutions.
* Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation guidelines regarding credit transfer.
* Provide support for prospective transfer students, including transcript evaluations and degree audits.
* Utilize student information systems (e.g., Banner, People Soft, or similar) to manage transfer credit records.
* Prepare reports on transfer trends, student success, and course articulation.
* Maintain and update Degree Works software to reflect accurate degree requirements, course offerings, and program changes.
* Ensure the system is configured properly for degree audits, transfer credits, and student progress tracking.
* Work closely with academic advisors and faculty to align academic policies with the Degree Works system.
* Serve as a point of contact for troubleshooting issues related to the Degree Works system.
* Oversee the generation of degree audits to ensure accuracy for student graduation eligibility and program completion.
* Generate reports related to student progress and program data for academic departments and advisors.
* Provide training and support to faculty, staff, and students on Degree Works functionality.
* Develop training materials and conduct workshops to improve understanding of Degree Works.
* Identify and resolve technical issues within the Degree Works system.
* Conduct regular system audits to identify and correct discrepancies in degree data.
* Maintain thorough documentation of processes, system updates, and changes to degree requirements or course offerings.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
* Two (2) years of experience in and office environment with data processing and data management.
* Knowledge of transfer credit policies, articulation agreements, and degree audit systems.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Proficiency with Degree Works or other student information systems (SIS).
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or a related field.
