Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Head Resident for the Department of Residence Life. The successful candidate assists the Resident Director by supporting a residential community that promotes learning and enhances personal and spiritual growth. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.

This is a part-time (12 to 15 hours per week), 12-month position.

Summary of Duties:

* Supervise daily operations of a residence hall; monitor activities among student residents and visitors

* Assist appropriate Resident Director in developing and coordinating educational, social, and spiritual programs

* Submit accident and incident reports to the proper department(s) such as Dean of Student, Residence Life and/or Campus Security

* Assist Resident Directors in supervising Resident Assistants

* Conduct regular meetings with resident assistants to provide guidance, and address any needs or concerns regarding residential operations

* Supervise maintenance and upkeep of residence hall; conduct monthly room inspections to monitor cleanliness, damage or misuse of facilities

* Communicate maintenance and housekeeping needs to the Resident Director

* Maintain records of all student residents in the assigned facility

* Maintain all university rules and regulations concerning the residence hall

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree preferred;
High School diploma or GED required

* Leadership experience required

* Ability to relate well with a diverse population of students and staff

* Ability to make critical decisions while following university procedures

* Must be willing to live in campus housing

* Active member of the church of Christ
