Elementary Special Ed Teacher — IEP & Inclusion

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

• Current and valid Special Education licensure as verified through the Alabama certification portal
• Previous experience teaching or supporting elementary students in a Special Education setting (inclusion, self-contained, or behavior units ideal)
• Strong commitment to student growth, inclusion, and personalized instruction
• Excellent classroom management, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, positive, and flexible approach to meeting the needs of students and collaborating with colleagues

• Plan and deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of elementary students with disabilities in one of three classroom environments: inclusion, self-contained, or behavior unit
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with families and support staff
• Track and report student progress; participate in regular IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation
• Use evidence-based strategies to support academic and behavioral goals
• Foster a safe, encouraging, and productive classroom atmosphere
• Team up with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure optimal student outcomes
