Associate Degree In The Department Of The Air Force Leadership And Management Studies Program
Overview of Project:
The Associate Degree in the Department of the Air Force Leadership and Management Studies Program is to help DAF civilians reach their full leadership potential. Courses are designed to teach skills and competencies deemed critical to the Department of the Air Force and are based upon the DAF's foundational competencies. Course learning activities are designed to positively impact the student's work center as well as their professional development.
Completion of the program results in an Associate Degree in the Department of the Air Force Leadership and Management Studies. The degree is awarded by Air University and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Eligible DAF civilians can complete the program at little or no cost.
Specific
Job Responsibilities:
- The instructor shall instruct in the Civilian Undergraduate Degree Program. The instructor shall teach up to 40 online sections/classes per year. A section/class may have up to 30 students.
- Each online section/class will normally run for up to 9 weeks and average 10 hours of instructor engagement per week. A single contract instructor may teach up to 4 online sections/classes at any given time.
- The instructor shall be able to deliver curricula, facilitate group exercises/activities through synchronous and asynchronous online classrooms and learning management systems, monitor participant progress and account for participant activity/participation in a distance learning environment.
- Complete grading and respond to student questions. Give feedback to students as needed and remediate them. Engage with students via phone and email to resolve course-related issues and help students make satisfactory progress.
- Additionally, the instructor shall complete end-of-course reports for the classes they instructed. The instructor shall attend the curriculum committee and other CADP team meetings as required.
- The instructor shall follow all policies and procedures for instructors described by AF, AETC, AU, Eaker, FSPDS and CADP guidance.

Requirements:
- One (1) year of experience as an instructor in online university level education
- One (1) year experience in LMS (Blackboard, Canvas, or similar technology).
- One (1) year experience using live teaching on TEAMS, ZOOM, or other like collaboration platform
- Must have a master's or doctoral degree, in Management or Leadership or a related discipline or Master's degree with a concentration of 18 graduate hours in Mangement or Leadership
- Must have Air Force civilian or Air Force military experience within the past 7 years before initially teaching in this program but then may exceed this time after teaching in this program OR completed Air Force intermediate or senior-level Professional Military Education within the past 7 years
- Must have 2 years of Air Force Academic writing experience
