Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for the recruitment and enrollment of new students to Southwest Minnesota State University. Admissions Counselors are responsible for participating in activities and tasks that result in moving students through the enrollment funnel. The enrollment funnel includes the following critical processes:
Prospect Generation, Inquiry Management, Application Development, and Admission to Enrollment. The primary objective is to meet or exceed enrollment goals established by the administration.
- Bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional experience in a related field or two years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of post‑secondary training, education and/or professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in oral, written, and interpersonal settings.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proven ability to prepare and deliver effective public presentations.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Experience of working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, preferably Slate.
- Knowledge and understanding of higher education systems.
- Experience working in admissions and with prospective college students.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to write and speak fluently in Spanish.
