Position: Special Populations Program Manager - 529835

The University of Alabama is hiring a Special Populations Program Manager to oversee the ACCESS Virtual Learning program's statewide services and compliance initiatives for students needing specialized instructional accommodations. The role leads program implementation, develops operational procedures and training frameworks, and ensures adherence to federal and state regulations while collaborating with internal and external education partners.

Highlights
  • Manage statewide services for students with IEPs, Section 504 plans, and English Learner supports within ACCESS Virtual Learning.
  • Lead program implementation and develop operational procedures and training for educators.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations on virtual learning access.
  • Serve as the primary subject‑matter expert on special populations for ACCESS.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership and external education partners.
  • Required qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree with 4 years experience or Master’s degree with 2 years experience; valid U.S. driver’s license required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master’s in Education or related field, administrative certification or leadership experience, 5 years supporting special populations, and experience with professional development and multi-district initiatives.
  • Compensation range: $56,600 - $73,600 annually (Salaried E9).
  • Focus on compliance with federal/state regulations and support for educators in online learning environments.
  • Belongs to the ACCESS Department, serving K-12 students statewide in Alabama.
