Special Education Teacher in Montgomery, AL

This is a full-time, school-year contract opportunity serving elementary-level learners in specialized, self-contained classrooms. Youll collaborate closely with paraprofessional staff and administrators to ensure students receive tailored instruction and support.

• Valid Special Education Teacher licensure in Alabama (SPED certification required; verify here: (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Certs.aspx)
• Experience working in self-contained classrooms, particularly with students with autism and language needs is highly valued
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment for diverse learners
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with paraprofessionals, administrators, and families

• Provide individualized instruction in self-contained language/autism units with dedicated paraprofessional support
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans based on students IEP goals
• Collect data and monitor student progress, regularly updating documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance student outcomes
• Support and supervise paraprofessionals within the classroom
• Communicate proactively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies
• Promote student engagement, safety, and social-emotional growth

This rewarding contract runs from early August to late May, aligned with the school academic calendar and providing consistent weekly hours. You'll have the chance to teach in supportive elementary settings with a collaborative work environment.
