Job Description Overview

The Department of Communication and Theatre at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-timelecturer position, to begin August 2026. This is a one-year(nine-month), renewable appointment.

Comprehensive benefits include health and life insurance, and participation in the state pension system (RSA TRS).

Responsibilities will include teaching courses appropriate to theneeds of the department and maintaining office hours. The teachingload is 4-4 courses (24 credit hrs) per academic year (Fall and Spring). Summer teaching is possible.

The successful candidate will join three colleagues in an esteemed

Theatre program that produces three annual productions with TheatreAUM, one of which receives an external response for the American College Theater Festival each year.

• Teaching and professional theatre experience.

Auburn University at Montgomery is a comprehensive, public institution located in Alabama's capital city. The Montgomery metropolitan area is home to nearly 400,000 people and a hub for technology-intensive entities such as Maxwell AFB and Hyundai Motor Manufacturing. AUM enrolls approximately 4-5,000 students, and the University is investing heavily in STEM education, including the completion of a new Science building. The Department of Mathematicscurrently includes nine tenure-track faculty and five lecturers andoffers an undergraduate degree in Mathematics.

The department also offers two minors in Data Science and Statistics. In addition, the department coordinates a two-year pre-engineering program that prepares students to transfer to an engineering school (usually themain campus of Auburn University).
