Cullman, Alabama (Onsite)

We are seeking an Assembly Engineer with a strong mechanical design foundation to support equipment installation, line trials, and product launches at our Cullman, AL manufacturing facility. This role bridges mechanical design, manufacturing execution, and cross-functional coordination, with responsibility for ensuring equipment readiness, robust process flow, and successful production ramp-up.
The role supports both U.S.
- and Japan-built equipment and requires close collaboration with internal engineering, manufacturing, quality, and external vendors.
- Manage installation and commissioning of assembly equipment, including coordination with outside contractors and vendors
- Design and optimize mechanical systems, equipment layouts, and process flows using CAD tools
- Schedule, oversee, and support line trials, ensuring part quality and process stability
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting support during equipment installation, trials, and launch
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful product launches and on-time readiness
- Develop and implement cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct testing and monitor process performance, driving corrective actions and improvements
- Support project planning, schedules, and execution across multiple concurrent activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and mechanical design
- Proficiency with Solid Works, AutoCAD, and related engineering or simulation tools
- Understanding of assembly processes, line trials, and manufacturing launch activities
- Working knowledge of Kaizen, Gorika, cycle time analysis, ROI studies, and time charts
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hands-on manufacturing environment
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed to support launches
- Ability to travel overnight, including occasional international travel
- Must be available for after-hours or weekend support calls as required
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and spend time on the production floor
- Must currently reside within commuting distance of Cullman, AL
