Job Title:
Test Engineer P&C 1
Duration: 12 months (Possible Extension onversion)
Location: 1810 Congressman Dickinson Dr., Montgomery AL 36109
Shift Timing:
Mon - Fri Standard Shift
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices
- Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices.
- Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation.
- Assist assigned project lead with field assignments Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices.
- Participate in process hazard analyses.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices.
- Engineers are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing protection and control systems. These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
- Engineers must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.
- They use this knowledge to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent 4-year BS Engineering Degree (Electrical Preferred).
- 0-3 years' experience in Engineering or similar role Familiar with Microsoft Office applications Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs Experience with AC and DC systems.
- Successful candidates must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned APC office location.
