CFD Research Corporation is seeking a Machinist to join our team and play a pivotal role in the operation of 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machines. This position is a new role that will work on a growing team of engineers and technicians and will encompass setup of machines to help support technology development programs designed and prototyped at our new Hollywood, Alabama Engineering Test Center, located a short distance from our Headquarters in Huntsville, AL.

• Operate lathes, 3,4, & 5 axis CNC machines.
• Read machine setup sheets, tool lists, and other related documents.
• Communicate effectively with team members and support technology development programs.

• Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
• Position requires an associate's degree or higher and at least 4 years of experience in a machining environment.
• Experience designing and developing tooling and fixtures for manufacturing.
• Proficient in working with a variety of materials, including plastics, aluminum, steel, stainless steels, and nickel alloys.

• Familiarity with AS9100 process.
• Deep understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with ERP systems (Cetec).
• Experience with aerospace hardware.
• Experience with Mazak CNCs (Smooth AI).
• Experience with Mastercam and Solidworks.
