Position:
Maintenance Manager
Location:
North Kansas City, MO
Primary function:
Ensure the reliability and availability of assets and structures assigned to the plant, utilizing the IPS management/Reliability system method. This involves managing area activities, providing technical supervision, and engaging in strategic maintenance planning in the medium to long term.
- Lead the development and management of reliability and capacity increase projects within the designated area.
- Support engineering in capex prioritization efforts, consolidating and validating core equipment, and contributing to startup plans.
- Manage costs and employ reliability practices to ensure optimized execution of activities with excellence, meeting minimum maintenance quality requirements, and maximizing resource utilization.
- Integrate resource and asset planning with S&OP to achieve efficiency and productivity goals across long, medium, and short-term horizons.
- Manage maintenance and contractor costs effectively.
- Demonstrate competency in managing key reliability and maintenance indicators, fostering personnel development, implementing routines, and cultivating an understanding of KPI management.
- Oversee active outsourced contracts and collaborate with purchasing to develop new supplier relationships.
- Lead asset reliability efforts, deploying new technologies or management methods to extend asset lifespan and minimize non-value-added activities.
- Utilize methodologies such as Six Sigma and Applied Statistics, Predictive/Proactive Analysis & Tools, RCM, FMEA, WCM Advanced Tools, and Digital Manufacturing.
- Ensure safety, adherence to cost targets, people upskilling and factory productivity while upholding quality standards.
- Serve as an interface between maintenance units or departments, coordinating resource allocation for execution, including purchase orders, service contracts, and immediate purchases.
- Ensure adherence to standardized maintenance strategy development, in line with ISO systems.
- Manage the preventive maintenance planned downtime calendar for the factory's machinery, equipment, and processes, prioritizing based on criticality and providing regional visibility for these events.
- Provide support activities for the maintenance department, including analysis of technical documentation, conducting specific studies, preparing graphs and machine stoppage reports, updating management tables, and controlling statistics and indicators.
- Collaborate with the IT and procurement departments to oversee projects that align maintenance operations with the Industry 4.0 framework, expediting decision-making processes and enhancing information management capabilities.
- Provide assistance to maintenance sectors and the safety and environmental department in meeting legal requirements related to Occupational Health and Safety Regulatory Standards.
- Develop tutorials and training materials to aid maintenance employees in becoming proficient with the SAP/PM system, facilitating their understanding and promoting standardized usage.
- Establish standardized procedures for technicians and predictive management within the department to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop an upskilling plan to address them.
- Education:
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics and Automation Engineering. - Industry knowledge:
Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, maintenance execution, reliability tools and third‑party management. - Functional knowledge:
Fundamental general knowledge of electrical/mechanical equipment applied to machines, equipment and industrial processes, SAP-PM. - Key skills:
Experience in SAP-PM, implementation and day‑to‑day management. - Computer and project skills:
Intermediate Office package proficiency, advanced SAP knowledge. - Languages:
English, Spanish desirable. - Technical skills:
Advanced knowledge of programming, maintenance planning and control, world‑class indicators (KPI's), root cause analysis tools, project management and cost management, RCM and FMEA.
