Warranty Engineer
The Warranty Engineer is responsible for analyzing warranty claims related to automotive seating systems. This role ensures timely root case identification, drives corrective actions, and supports continuous initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce warranty cost, and improve customer satisfaction.
The Warranty Engineer:
- Leads or supports root cause analysis using methodologies, and implementing solutions under tight deadlines (8d, 3 panel, and 5 why's)
- Weekly meetings with OEM customers to review, validate, analyze, discuss and assign responsibility for all warranty claims, feedback to team of any claim related to process and supplier to resolve component-related failures
- Provides direct communication to include one-on-one conversations, group meetings, presentations and reporting to OEM customers as well as internal management in various departments
- Organizes, coordinates and documents all warranty reduction initiatives involving management to generate the proper actions, feasibility analysis, cost impact, and follow up on implementation dates, including clean points of every action
- Develops, implements, and monitors corrective actions with cross functional team
- Ensures timely closure of customer complaints and warranty cases
- Supports launch activities to ensure lessons learned from warranties are implemented
- Tracks warranty trends, failure modes, and field return data
- Prepares detailed reports on warranty performance, KPIs, and cost impact
- Maintains warranty databases and ensures data accuracy
- Attends all warranty meetings, reviews, and audits
- Implements lessons learned from DFMEA/PFMEA and control plans
- Drives initiatives to improve product reliability and durability
- Creates and submits technical reports daily
