Volt Energy Materials LLC, US () is a critical mineral (graphite) company and subsidiary of Australian Securities Exchange listed company Volt Resources Limited [ASX: VRC]. We are a natural graphite and graphite derivatives producer with global footprint (Australia, US, Ukraine, Tanzania, Serbia, and Guinea) and mission to become a world-class supplier of advanced graphite products using our industrialization experience, patent-pending technology, deep application knowledge, global partnerships, and offtake agreements.

Volt subsidiary, Zavalievsky Graphite (ZG), Ukraine, has a working graphite mine (since 1934) and graphite refinery (since 2017) which has been serving customers in Europe and Asia for several years.

Volt Energy Materials LLC, US plans to establish a Customer Application and R&D Centre in Alabama to support Alabama Graphite Refinery and serve North American customers.

The CAC will broadly focus on customer sampling, product development and qualification, process optimization, technology transfer to the commercial refinery, IP generation and protection, and explore new graphite applications beyond industrial and energy storage (batteries).We are looking for talented personnel to work at Volt’s R&D Centre in Alabama.

Reports to CEO

• Lead a team of interns(s), engineer(s) to plan and execute R&D projects on time, budget, and with safety compliance.
  
  Improve graphite products and scale laboratory processes up to manufacturing
• Upgrade (as needed), maintain, and lead R&D facilities with strict adherence and compliance with environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and laboratory protocols.
  
  Manage relationship with site landlord as Site Manager.
• Based on customer feedback, improve product or optimize process, and lower cost.
  
  During scale-up, solve manufacturing or processing challenges.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and other teams
• Lead and/or participate in meetings with customers, government funding agencies (DOE, DOD, etc.), other stakeholders

• 1.5-10 years’ experience in Graphite processing, evaluation, characterization, and graphite application development in industrial, battery (energy storage), and defense sectors
• 1.5-10 years’ experience in Pilot plant commissioning, start-up, and operations
• 1.5-10 years’ experience in Ability to convert customer specifications into marketable products
• 1.5-10 years’ experience in Scale-up or industrialization (R&D to pilot plant to commercial plant) of graphite or specialty materials.
• 1.5-10 years’ experience in Hands-on chemical R&D experience and familiarity with handling, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Advanced degree in chemical engineering / material science / related field.
• Strong project and people leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
