Chief Engineer – IRES, SSFB​/HSV

Responsibilities

• Serve as the principal technical authority and visionary leader for the IRES contract
• Develop and maintain the enterprise long-term technology vision and strategic roadmap
• Lead R&D initiatives involving Digital Engineering, MBSE, Dev Sec Ops , and AI/ML integration
• Partner with business development on major strategic pursuits
• Provide technical leadership and translate complex capabilities into value propositions for sales and customers
• Define and govern engineering and architectural standards
• Advise senior leadership and government stakeholders on technical and strategic implications
• Drive innovation and experimentation to solve complex challenges
• Mentor senior engineering staff and champion professional development and technical career progression
• Foster partnerships with vendors, academic institutions, and DoD organizations
• Integrate activities across the department and contract, leveraging MDA relationships
• Lead integration of systems engineering principles and requirements into project management
• Resolve technical and organizational conflicts

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited university
• 15+ years of progressive experience in engineering
• At least 5 years in a senior strategic or architectural leadership role
• At least 3 years of experience orchestrating and executing planning events with key stakeholders, including Government senior leadership
• Proven experience developing and implementing a multi-year technology strategy and roadmap for a large-scale enterprise
• Experience with DoD acquisition processes and long-range strategic planning
• Experience implementing Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Dev Sec Ops , and AI/ML integration across an enterprise
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
• Demonstrated experience leading a Digital Engineering transformation, including digital twins, authoritative sources of truth, or simulation-driven design and verification methodologies
• Demonstrated experience leading innovation and R&D projects from conception to implementation
• Experience in full systems life cycle, strategic planning, and project management methodologies
• Experience mentoring employees to identify value and continuous improvement performance
