Alabama State University, Business and Finance, invites applications to fill the position of Financial Analyst. Under general supervision the selected candidate will render accounting and clerical services relative to the maintenance of purchasing cards, travel records, and cash receipts for the university's current unrestricted fund.
Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain electronic accounting records for all purchasing card holders
- Ensure University policies and procedures, as well as state laws and regulations, are followed for travel related processing
- Verify the accuracy of all purchasing card and travel related receipts, and monitor the availability of funds
- Assist users in the preparation of travel and expense vouchers, and train campus community on the use of purchasing cards
- Reconcile the monthly credit card statement to individual cardholder receipts
- Assist with ADHOC reporting regarding credit cards expenses
- Prepare accounting journal entries for transaction related to travel, purchasing cards, and any other transaction as needed
- Monitor banking transactions and ensure all wires, and cash receipts are recorded
- Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or other business discipline, 2 years of business experience in an office environment, working knowledge of expense processing and receipt verification, must be able to analyze financial transactions and make appropriate conclusions, have a thorough understanding of how to apply established rules and regulations to the maintenance of accounting records are required.
