Portfolio Specialist I/II Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience and at least four (4) years of progressively responsible banking or related corporate credit experience.

• Assess the credit and financial strength of the Association’s Capital Markets portfolio by performing fundamental credit analysis on individual portfolio companies.
• Maintain and build financial models to incorporate forward‑looking risk assessment on key value drivers.
• Recommend loan investment opportunities, extensions, and amendments for approval.
• Analyze financial information to ascertain credit worthiness.
• Determine internal Probability of Default (PD) and Loss Given Default (LGD) ratings as appropriate.
• Monitor and ensure loans are properly risk‑rated and performance status assignments are proper.
• Perform loan servicing tasks including partial releases, subordinations, re‑amortizations, assumptions, severance agreements, and amendments.
• Work directly with lending staff in the development of appropriate credit decisions and prepare other reports as requested by management.
• Interpret, communicate, and provide guidance to loan officers regarding association lending policies and procedures.
• Comply with proper credit administration practices as outlined in the association’s policies and procedures.
• Travel 25‑50% of the time is required.

At the discretion of Alabama Ag Credit, the position may be offered at alternate titles and other business experience may be considered relevant.
