Duties
The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as Chief, Career Development in administering all aspects of the section. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. To train reservists in the duties and responsibilities set forth herein.
DUTIES:
DUTY 1: Plans, directs, and controls all aspects of the Career Development programs for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR) and unit reservists. Responsible for the development of internal policies and procedures governing administration of Career Development programs to include: inbound assignments, senior officer assignments, twice deferred officer waivers, reassignments (voluntary/involuntary), separations (voluntary/involuntary/officer resignations), retirements to include high year of tenure/mandatory separation date extensions, conditional releases, and inter- and intra-service transfers assignments for officer and enlisted personnel;
certification of military qualifications assignment eligibility for ARTs, AGRs and traditional reserve applicants; in-processing of personnel.
DUTY 2: Manages the Air Force Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) Program. Obligates government funds on receipt of HQ AFRC/CV/A1K approval and approved physical. Responsible for preparation and processing EAD orders allowing the selectee to enter and exit the EAD program. Administers actions in Automated Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserves (AROWS-R).
DUTY 3: Serves as advisor to commanders on unit human resources (military) programs. Interprets policy and provides procedural guidance to commanders, first sergeants, supervisors, and staff members regarding Career Development programs. Provides guidance and assistance on unit programs such as Transition Assistance Program, administrative separation procedures, reassignment policies, retirements and TDY relocation processing. Serves as focal point and acts as liaison, coordinates, and disseminates information to unit commanders, first sergeants, and managers on management of loss rates, discharges, and officer promotion boards.
DUTY 4: Provides human resources management (military) advisory services to commanders and staff on all Career Development programs. Analyzes data and makes subsequent determinations regarding personnel matters which may involve or affect ARTs, AGRs, and traditional reservists. Advises supervisors or managers within the wing when actions may affect productivity or mission.
DUTY 5: Ensures accuracy of Personnel Data System (PDS) and performs functional review of data reliability. Responsible for input of data pertaining to Career Development programs. Reviews daily and weekly transactions registers, HAF purges and reject listings to clear, correct and follow-up on suspended actions and correct mismatched data in the system. May be required to perform Installation Personnel Readiness duties and/or assist as directed.

SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the lower grade, GS-07 level or equivalent. Examples of specialized experience includes:
In-depth knowledge of military personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, instructions, etc., to understand respective programs and converse with functional managers.
