• Support the processes and procedures associated with a financial investigation, including introduction of specific tools and techniques to analyze financial information.
• Provide support to fully develop the forfeiture aspects of ongoing investigations.
• Analyze financial records obtained by the FBI Case Teams through internal and external databases, review bank statements, deposits, debit transactions, checks, letters of credit, Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), loan applications, and related records obtained via subpoenas and search warrants.
• Determine hidden assets and false statements that conceal illicit assets from investigators and misrepresent them as legitimate.
• Review, process, and analyze information sufficient to assist in determining the amount to seek for forfeiture, identify and trace assets, and assist the Government in perfecting its interest in property.
• Repatriate assets subject to forfeiture.
• Identify individuals and entities making deposits and all related bank accounts, properties, investments, and other assets derived from documentation.
• Maintain detailed case documentation and database files of financial investigative research to trace proceeds of criminal activities and investigative interests in targeted property.
• Research and analyze information from various investigative and business‑related automated systems (Choice Point, Autotrack, TECS, FINCEN, CLEAR, THREADS, Accurint, ISYS, Lexis‑Nexis, PACER, Court Link, West Law, NADA, Used , and other tools).
• Perform analysis tasks such as documenting ownership interests of targeted properties, tracing proceeds, creating databases, preparing seizure warrants, civil complaints, forfeiture counts, exhibits, and identifying potential substitute assets.
• Ingest, process, and analyze varied datasets acquired during investigations using existing government toolsets, collaborating with data scientists, system engineers, and software developers.
• Provide additional services, including parsing dialed number strings to identify values and property subject to forfeiture.
• Organize and conduct detailed examinations of information generated during complex criminal/civil investigations and alternative sources to conduct financial analyses.
• Assist with development of probable cause to enable the Government to pursue seizure warrants, temporary restraining orders, civil complaints, and forfeiture counts.
• Provide investigative support and coordinated planning to mitigate excessive risks in seizing targeted property, assessing impacts on local communities.
• Prepare documents and catalog case exhibits on source and ownership of targeted properties.
• Perform analytical research to identify potential substitute assets.
• Identify witnesses and subjects, and assist the case agent/attorney during interviews and courtroom proceedings concerning ownership and source of targeted property.
• Conduct detailed link analyses specific to forfeiture, using financial analysis and investigative techniques, including Title III surveillance, to determine relationships between subjects and events leading to alleged forfeitability.
• Provide courtroom testimony and depositions regarding investigative analysis and identification of assets derived from unlawful activities.
